What’s holding you back?!

Imagine waking up every morning, knowing you’re building something that fuels your passion, supports your family, and lets you be present for your children—especially if they have special needs. Sounds like a dream, right? But what’s stopping you from making it a reality?
I’ve spoken with multiple moms who all felt trapped in their 9-5 jobs, worried about who would care for their special needs children. They all dreamed of working for themselves, but had one thing in common. They all had fears of failure, rejection, and losing that financial stability. Today, however, they run thriving businesses and are making a real impact in the special needs communities. Some of these moms are even doing this all from home. What changed? They decided to take the first step.
Becoming an entrepreneur can be scary, especially as a mom. Fear of being a failure can keep you from taking the leap and becoming your own boss. Many entrepreneurs fail at their first ideas. Yes, you heard me right. First attempts don’t always become a prosperous business. Every successful entrepreneur has faced setbacks—it’s part of the journey. But failure isn’t the end; it’s just a lesson. What’s the difference between those who succeed and those who don’t? They keep going! By doing this, you can give yourself the freedom and flexibility to be more present in your children’s lives, while doing what you love.
The fear of rejection is another common worry. No one wants to feel rejected. When you put your time and effort into something you love and are excited about your creation or vision, rejection can be tough. A way to overcome that fear is to do your research. Take your time to learn about the industry you are interested in. Attend some networking events and surround yourself with other moms for more inspiration. Learning from other moms can make the journey look easier. Build a community to help you succeed. Your products or vision may not connect with everyone and you might receive some rejection. The key to success is knowing your audience and connecting with them. Grow your potential audience before making your launch, for a better success rate at the start of your business journey. Take these steps to help build a successful brand for yourself.
When you’re used to that consistent paycheck, the thought of leaving that for the unknown can seem unrealistic. Start small. Test your idea on the side before making any big jumps. Many mompreneurs start as a side hustle and grow from there. You don’t have to risk it all overnight. When you are ready for that jump, explore your financial options, like small business loans and investor funding. You will be surprised what is available to get your business started.

So glad I decided to go to the Summit!
The Summit was fabulous! So many inspiring Autism Moms and their amazing stories. They made me feel like I had the strength and ability to achieve so much more than I ever gave myself credit for. I needed to hear everything that was said. The gift bags at the end was a great touch too. Such cool little items in the bag.
Didn’t make it to the summit??? That’s ok! Email us with any questions and we’ll be happy to point you in the right directions!
