Ameena Rodriguez-DeLeon
Operations Manager
Ameena Rodriguez-DeLeon resides in New York City. She is a proud mom to her one and only son who was diagnosed with PDD-NOS just after his second birthday. When he turned 4, he received an official diagnosis of autism.
Ameena’s professional background is diverse – from being a Legal Secretary/Assistant for over 20 years in multiple law firms, to working as a Client Service Professional for H&R Block. She is also the author of an award-winning memoir, “Path to Rebirth: Fight. Survive. Repeat,” that centers around transformation, of finding light in the darkest of times, and of embracing the journey, no matter how unpredictable it may be.
She believes that being part of your children’s education is important, and, for the last 4 to 5 years, she has been part of her son’s school’s Parent Association and School Leadership Team. Recently, Ameena became an ARISE Coalition member with Advocates for Children of NY, which includes a diverse group of parents, educators, and advocates working together to improve the education of students with disabilities in New York City’s public schools.
As an advocate and voice for autism awareness and acceptance, she brings her knowledge and experience from her journey as an autism mom.
Allysa Parker
Brand Ambassador
My name is Allysa Parker, and I’m proud to call Fayetteville, North Carolina home. I am a certified dental assistant and, more importantly, a proud mother to my adventurous son, Julian, who is autistic and living with Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) a type of brain injury that occurs when the brain doesn’t receive enough oxygen or bloodflow at birth.
As a strong advocate for autism and HIE awareness, my mission is to help other families better understand these journeys that are often misunderstood. I am a single mother holding it down with a small but mighty village, determined to provide Julian with all the love, care, and opportunities he deserves.
I want to empower other mothers to know: even with little to no knowledge at the beginning, you can still become the advocate, the teacher, and the hero your child needs.
