Ameena Rodriguez-DeLeon
Operations Manager
Ameena Rodriguez-DeLeon resides in New York City. She is a proud mom to her one and only son who was diagnosed with PDD-NOS just after his second birthday. When he turned 4, he received an official diagnosis of autism.
Ameena’s professional background is diverse – from being a Legal Secretary/Assistant for over 20 years in multiple law firms, to working as a Client Service Professional for H&R Block. She is also the author of an award-winning memoir, “Path to Rebirth: Fight. Survive. Repeat,” that centers around transformation, of finding light in the darkest of times, and of embracing the journey, no matter how unpredictable it may be.
She believes that being part of your children’s education is important, and, for the last 4 years, she has been part of her son’s school’s Parent Association and School Leadership Team. Recently, Ameena became an ARISE Coalition member with Advocates for Children of NY, which includes a diverse group of parents, educators, and advocates working together to improve the education of students with disabilities in New York City’s public schools.
As an advocate and voice for autism awareness and acceptance, she brings her knowledge and experience from her journey as an autism mom.

Susan Nicks
Blogger & Brand Ambassador
Susan Nicks (please call me Susie) is a passionate licensed massage therapist as well as a licensed cosmetologist. Susie is a hard working and dedicated wife and a mother of three. Susie’s husband has been their backbone, providing support and dedication to the family. They have a 19 year old son, a 7 year old son, and a daughter, Saya, who is now 5 years old. Saya was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of 22 months.
On her journey of being a mom and wife, Susie has worked extremely hard to keep a well balanced life. Juggling all of the “mom and wife duties” is now impacted by the role of a special needs mom. Susie has been educating herself about autism since the moment her daughter was diagnosed. She didn’t let her daughter’s diagnosis bring anyone in the family down. Instead, she chose to take charge and do everything she could to help her daughter progress with all the appropriate tools and therapies. While managing all of these tasks, Susie had to find an outlet so she wouldn’t feel overwhelmed.
Susie has always used writing as a tool to help work through her emotions, but now she was finding it helped her to improve as a mother and wife. Susie is dedicated to writing blogs and creating content that resonates with other moms as a way to connect the Autism community. She hopes from posting her blogs and content, that other mothers can have a safe space to relate. More importantly, that other moms will feel empowered by the stories and begin to bring out their true inner badass! She feels that in order to help our children, we all need to “Hear what isn’t said” about the world of Autism.
